Wrap the tape around your head where the hat will sit, just above the ears and across the forehead. Between sizes? Go up. Wearing a wig? Measure over it.

Size charts for our ready-to-wear suits, belts, hats, gloves and boot toppers, plus how to take every measurement for a custom-made suit, Mrs. Claus outfit or boots.
Step one
Before you measure
Five minutes of care here saves weeks of alterations later.
- Use a soft cloth tape. A metal tape measure won't follow the body. No tape? Use a string and lay it against a ruler.
- Get a helper. Chest, sleeve and back measurements are nearly impossible to take on yourself.
- Dress like it's show day. Wear your belly pad, the shirt you'll wear underneath, and the boots for any length measurement.
- Snug, not tight. The tape should lie flat without pressing in. We add the right ease for movement when we cut.
- Write it down in inches. Round to the nearest quarter inch. If two readings disagree, measure a third time.
Ready to Wear
Santa suits & workshop shirts
Our ready-to-wear suits are cut in letter sizes from L to 4X, with the same workmanship as our custom suits. Pick the size that matches your chest. If your waist lands in a bigger size than your chest, go with the bigger one.
Measure over your padding if you wear one. Workshop and puffy-sleeve shirts use the same letter sizes.
Between two sizes? Send us your chest and waist and Doug will confirm your size before the suit ships.

Belts
Belt sizes
Put on your coat and padding, then measure around the outside of the coat exactly where the belt will sit. Choose the belt size whose range includes that number.

Our other belts (3" snap belts, embossed holly leaf, distressed brown and Biothane) are sold by the size they fit: measure the same way and order the nearest size. All our 4" belts take a standard 4" Santa buckle and fit standard 4" belt loops.
Gloves
White cotton gloves
Sizes are the glove's overall length, from the snap cuff to the tip of the middle finger. Sold in packs of 10 pairs. Not sure? Email Doug your hand length (wrist crease to middle fingertip).

Boot toppers
Fur boot toppers
Toppers are sized by calf. Measure around the widest part of your calf, over the boot shaft if you already have your boots. Between sizes, go up so the fur sits without squeezing.

Custom fit
Custom pieces have no size chart. They're built to you.
Custom Santa suits, Mrs. Claus outfits and custom boots are cut from your own measurements. Our fit walk-through shows each one step by step, and Doug reviews every set before anything is cut. Here's what we'll ask for.
- Head size
Around the crown of the head where the hat will sit, just above the ears.
- Neck
Around the base of the neck where a shirt collar sits. One finger should slide underneath.
- Shoulder to shoulder
From the edge of one shoulder, across the back, to the edge of the other.
- Chest
Arms out while a helper wraps the tape at nipple level, then lower your arms and read it.
- Sleeve
From the knob at the back of the neck, over the shoulder, behind a bent elbow, to where the cuff should end.
- Waist
Around your belly while seated, stomach relaxed. Wear your padding if you use one.
- Coat length
From the knob at the back of the neck straight down to where the coat should end.
- Outseam
From the side of the hip down to the ankle bone, where the pant cuff ends.
Custom Santa suit
Hat, coat and pants together: everything on the map above, plus back and front to waist, belt-loop height and crotch depth.
Mrs. Claus outfit
Bust, natural and seated waist, hips and shoulders, plus the lengths for whichever dress, skirt, jacket, overlay or capelet you choose. Wear your show shoes for lengths.
Custom leather boots
Stand on paper and trace each foot, then measure the ball, instep, heel-over-ankle, ankle and calf, and how tall the boot should be.
